vibe on the ship is just so ideal and so fantastic, that it's hard to
believe the cruise is even real – it's certainly a surreal experience
that, at times, surpasses even fantasy." – Beny Eisen, AOL Spinner & PopEater [Read Review]
“Jam Cruise is equally fueled by the communal vibe of a summer festival and the artist-fan interaction of rock-and-roll fantasy camp,” – Mike Greenhaus, Relix & Jambands.com
| "I'm committed to always being aboard for as long as it sails. I'd be glad to skip all other fests to experience this one each year. Take that to heart coming from a longtime fest vet like me. You've created a mecca for music lovers." - Dennis Cook, JamBase [Read JamBase Review] | |

As the "medical home" for more than 2,000 local musicians and tradition bearers, the NOMC's Culture of Caring Model provides cost-efficient access to high quality health care and wellness programs for our patients, regardless of their ability to pay. The New Orleans Musicians Assistance Foundation (NOMAF) evolved from NOMC following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, with a mission and promise to keep the music alive by sustaining New Orleans' traditional music culture through their Gig Fund and Emergency Fund. |

POSITIVE LEGACY: Costa Maya, Mexico
with Zach Deputy, Matt Butler, David Gans, and members of Greensky Bluegrass
Support the KM55 School and Library
Beach Clean Up, Community Celebration, Benefit, Music & Fun
Jam Cruise 9 returns to Costa Maya this year providing a wonderful opportunity to build upon our Positive Legacy (LaPL) work from Jam Cruise 7. In 2009, Cloud 9 provided financial support to help rebuild and resupply the KM55 “kinder” school in Mahahual and Las Casitas, which were heavily damaged by a Category 5 Hurricane. Also provided were additional donations of school supplies, solar ovens, refurbished laptops, and musical instruments to support those communities.
Join Positive Legacy for the opportunity to reconnect with the local community in Mahahual. Proceeds from this event and a donation from Cloud 9 will support additional renovations at KM55 School and support a local library project. We will start the day with a brief visit to the nearby KM55 School. We will then walk a mile stretch along the beach with the school children, picking up trash as we go. Then we will spend the rest of the day enjoying a song and dance presentation by the kids, lunch prepared by local cooks, tasty treats courtesy of Ice Cream Man, music by Jam Cruise Artists, and free time to swim in the ocean, play soccer and tour the town as desired.
The cost of this benefit event is $70 per person, $35 for kids. A portion of the ticket price will be tax-deductible as a charitable donation.

Support the SOL International Foundation
Local Community outreach, education, fundraising, music and the arts

This excursion includes local style cuisine, transportation, community activities, mural painting activity led by LEBO and a live local reggae band featuring very special Jam Cruise Artists. Ice Cream Man will be bringing their tasty treats to the island to share with the youth and all in attendance. There will be an opportunity for guests to have free beach time or visit the famous Carambola Gardens, a beautiful botanical garden and lush tropical forest which is a one minute walk from SOL headquarters. Admission to the gardens is an additional $6.
The ticket cost for this benefit event is $75.00 per
person, $37.50 for kids. A portion of the ticket price will be
tax-deductible as a charitable donation.

Straight from his live performance in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park with Michael Franti & Spearhead for a crowd of 70,000, LEBO will once again be bringing the live painting experience to this year's Jam Cruise. SweetWater now has a draft house in the Atlanta airport in addition to their super kick-back yet action-packed Atlanta Brewery in Midtown.
Next time you're in Atlanta, a tour is a MUST, they take place every Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sat. More information about brewery tours, their newest year round brew Sch'Wheat – an Unfiltered American Wheat, and much more can be found on their new website which launched this week. The Rhythm Devils began as the duo of Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann and his percussionist partner Mickey Hart. According to Hart, Jerry Garcia inadvertently coined the name in the late ‘70s. “I remember Jerry looking at Bill and I one time. He shook his head and just said, “You guys are Rhythm Devils.” Joining Hart & Kreutzmann will be additional members Tim Bluhm of the Mother Hips (guitar, vocals), Sikiru Adepoju (talking drum), Davy Knowles of Back Door Slam (guitar, vocals), and Andy Hess of Gov’t Mule (bass).
“The music is quite different. It’s real groove-based. It has lots of percussion and electronics. It’s very danceable. It’s gonna be quite a mix up there.” -- Kreutzmann
“It’s a great combination. You have the deep trance music from Nigeria and West Africa that Sikiru (Nigerian talking drum master Sikiru Adepoju) brings to us and there’s Davy who at any moment just might rip the sky apart with his guitar and Andy Hess is a real gem of a bass player. We’re also excited to have Tim Bluhm, who will bring his ferocious California guitar style and beautiful vocals to the mix.” --Hart
STEVE KIMOCK
Coming back for his 5th Jam Cruise, Kimock is going to be a busy man with so many great places to rip his unmistakable rifts and so many friends to sit in with...look for him to be an official host in the Jam Room, perform with The Everyone Orchestra, and surprise us wherever else his guitar leads him! Welcome back Steve, we're delighted to have you!
TAYLOR HICKS
We came to know him as a passenger on Jam Cruise 2, who won us over with his talents in the lounge after many a groove had taken over and made us all one. Who knew he would go on to win American Idol?! At any rate, we are glad to have him join us on Jam Cruise 9 - a long time fan from the scene who is one of us - and one of them!
NATHAN MOORE
As singer/songwriters go, Nathan Moore is a specialist. Equipped with an arsenal of lyrics and onstage antics that can carry an audience from cradle to grave, laughter to tears and cynicism to hope. He’s that rare musician that wants to shake your hand, look you in the eye and know who you are.
LATE NIGHT DISCO
There is no better place for a dance party than the Jam Cruise Disco in the middle of the Caribbean - with views out the back of the ship, you just might see the sun rise while swerving to the infectious grooves of those who know how to keep the beats going til dawn. Check 'em out!

Umphrey's McGee's dueling guitar attack and penchant for challenging arrangements are hallmarks of their sound and often the first elements of their music that stand out to listeners. This year on Jam Cruise, the music of Umphrey's McGee will sound like it never has before. For the first time, Umphrey's keyboardist Joel Cummins will be performing a set featuring the music of Umphrey's McGee arranged for solo piano.
A founding member of Jam Cruise favorites Umphrey's McGee, Joel Cummins' keyboards have provided a sonic bedrock for the band's progressive sound for the past 13 years. His usual rig consists of a Minimoog Voyager, Hammond B3 organ and Fender Rhodes, but this year he scales it back to a set on just solo piano, his first musical love. This will be Joel's 7th Jam Cruise. In addition to 5 performances with UM he has also performed on board with two of his other projects, the fusion-tinged Ohmphrey in 2010 (featuring Jake and Kris of Umphrey's McGee and Chris Poland, formerly of Megadeth) and Yacht Rock in 2009, a tribute to the smooth sounds of FM radio from 1976-1984.
It's an annual tradition on Jam Cruise to celebrate the accomplishments of the Greening and Positive Legacy programs during our last day at sea. On Jam Cruise 8, music maestro Matt Butler brought us an epic Everyone Orchestra performance with a stellar cast of 22 guest artists. We are pleased to announce that Matt will once again be conducting the Everyone Orchestra during the Greening Celebration on JC9!
Through a strategic alliance between the Greening and Positive Legacy programs, we will once again team up with the award-winning non-profit organization Trees, Water & People to offset 100% of the CO2 emissions from our 5-day voyage, making Jam Cruise "carbon neutral" for a 6th year in a row!
Our next step is to encourage all conscious cruisers to offset the carbon from their personal travel to/from Jam Cruise 9. Stay tuned for more info on how you can offset your carbon and earn a ticket to this special event.
We are pleased to offer flights through our travel partner kayak.com.

"Music just touches a place deep
inside people that
makes them feel really good," said Leaving a Positive Legacy's Ann
Kenworthy. "And when they're feeling really good, they want to put that
good energy back into the world." It seems natural, then, that
organizers of some of the feel-goodiest events of the year - Jam Cruise
and Caribbean Holidaze - would launch a nonprofit aimed at putting that
good energy back into the communities they visit. Fans and artists on
Jam Cruise 8 participated in an intercultural celebration in Jamaica
and learned about reef protection in Grand Cayman - donating time,
money, and resources.
