If you are a returning passenger, we urge you to pre-book before April 1st. After that, all remaining reservations will be placed in Category 4, which includes all virgin cruisers as well, which puts you in the group that gets last priority (among all who pre-book) to choose your cabin.

SHIP TIME in Honduras & Mexico

Honduras & Mexico are in the central time zone. Normally we would set our clocks back one hour upon arrival. To make it easier for everyone, we have decided to stay on ship time (ET) for the duration of Jam Cruise. That means no matter where you go in Mexico or Honduras, DO NOT change your clocks! Stay on Ship Time.

Your Jam Cruise 6 Travel Packets are coming! The travel packets will be mailed out in a few weeks to all the lead passengers. If you are in the singles program, you will each receive an individual packet. Included in each packet will be your cruise tickets for all of your cabin guests from MSC, MSC cruise materials and information, the Jam Cruise 6 Informational Welcome Packet, and your Jam Cruise souveneir luggage tags. All lead passengers will receive their cabins' travel packet near the end of the November or the beginning of December. If you are a lead passenger and do not receive your travel packet by December 15, 2007, please contact us at the Jam Cruise Travel Office at jctravel[at]jamcruise.com or 954-317-3586.
Brews at Sea

Jam Cruise 6 and MSC are proud to be serving microbrews from Sweetwater, Starr Hill, Breckenridge, and Asheville Breweries in our first ever beer garden on the pool deck! These fine brews will be sold both days at sea while supplies last. There will be a special package of beer coupons (back by popular demand!) specifically for microbrews on Jam Cruise, including the bottled beer from Sweetwater that will again be served in all venues. We would like to acknowledge and thank all of our breweries for supporting our greening efforts by helping us make the transition to keg beer, and for supplying us with biodegradable PLA cups for Brews at Sea. We look forward to a long lasting relationship with these breweries and are grateful to them for helping us take Jam Cruise to the next level!
Center Stage: Jamie Janover & Jans Ingber Join Jam Cruise!

Jamie Janover, a master of improvisation and a true innovator on the hammered dulcimer, brings new direction to the world applying diverse percussive techniques drawn from other unique instruments like tablas, drums, congos and many more! He will be performing with The Everyone Orchestra and look out for a possible Yoga class!
And, it is with great honor that we welcome Jans Ingber. The powerful vocalist of The Motet, Jans takes his voice to a level that is unbelievable. He will sing with EO, sit in with the Motet and also surprise us with the following: Jans' most recent endeavor with the Motet was a full performance of the music of Jamiroquai. Julie McCoy was front row and center for that show, loved it so much, that after one quick conversation with Dave Watts, we had added a set to the schedule. The Motet will perform Jamiroquai on board!

Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings will send us into dancing heaven as they headline the pre-cruise party on January 3rd at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale. The Spam Allstars, our local Florida latin-fusion flair, will kick the night off. Tickets are on sale now! $15 for cruisers, $20 for non-cruisers.

It's not too soon to start thinking about two years from right now. We begin pre-booking for the next event over a year ahead of time. Starting Monday, November 26 at Noon EST, you will be able to pay a deposit and HOLD A CABIN. Those who pre-book will have options for cabin selection prior to our opening for general reservations. When the 2009 cruise details are finalized, you will be notified regarding what day and how to book your cabin selection. Our next email will provide more details.
Door Decoration

Every year on board Jam Cruise we encourage our cruisers to express themselves by decorating their doors. In years past cruisers have joined forces and transformed their hallways into difference psychedelic scenes. Others have done things such as putting a Polaroid camera on their door and so others could take wild photos and post them. We can't wait to see what you'll be doing this year! There is a prize for the most creative door on board.

Name additions or changes are $75 per name now and will go up to $125 on November 28th. Make sure to get all the names on to your reservation ASAP so you do not incur any increased charges!
Travel packets will be sent out in mid November to all lead passengers. If you are in the singles program, you will each receive a travel packet. These packets will include your MSC documents, the Jam Cruise 6 welcome letter, and your collector luggage tags. Be sure to let your lead passenger know to expect these in the mail.

Galactic’s new album, From The Corner To The Block, came out this week featuring a laundry list of talented MC’s. A few of them will be sailing with us so make sure you check back for who will rapping their way to the Caribbean.

Costa Maya

As many of you know, Hurricane Dean has severely damaged one of our most beloved ports, Costa Maya. The port will remain closed for 6-8 months. We are working out a new itinerary with MSC and we will announce the new port as soon as the details are in place!
Live Lebo Painting

Our good friend and talented artist Lebo will be on board Jam Cruise 6. He has generously agreed to do a live painting for the greening auction. Proceeds from the painting will benefit the Roatan Children’s Fund. The mission of ROC is to improve the lives of the children living on the Island of Roatan, Honduras through education, healthcare, nutrition and enhanced living conditions. Specifically, this organization will seek to advance education and provide relief to poor, distressed, and underprivileged children living in Roatan, Honduras. Proceeds from LEBO’s painting will help with various needs of the ROC, which including schooling, transportation, uniforms, food, electricity, repairs, clothing, medical care, and other necessary supplies.

Al Schnier of moe. will make his debut on Jam Cruise collaborating with Ron Johnson, Jeff Austin, Jon Fishman and Robert Walter with a first time ever unique project. Ivan Neville will be joining Karl Denson and together, they will create the ultimate Super Jam. Mike D & Skerik, who will be contenders for ship-wide sit-ins, will also perform a duo together. Robert Walter, a lovely artist-at-large, is going to play a set with Stanton Moore. Dan Lebowitz of ALO, who will come on as a solo artist, will play a set with Magic Gravy. Visiting Roatan, Honduras & everyone’s favorite Costa Maya, Mexico, Jam Cruise 6 will set sail January 4-9, 2008 aboard the MSC Lirica. Pre-booking ended on April 30, and we have received more pre-books than ever before. Tokens will be sent to pre-bookers later this week. The public on sale begins June 4.
